A lovely story, sure to appeal to bear fans young and old. Memorable characters – such as Mr. Binks and a grumpy badger – help maintain interest as a perilous but charming tale unfolds with intriguing twists. The tone is appropriately child-like yet credits the reader with both intelligence and imagination. The illustrations are nicely old-school, Pooh-esque, yet fresh (I especially liked the ‘Missing’ poster in a country lane with a certain perspective). Just the right length for a lazy mid-afternoon or sleepy bedtime, this lost-and-found adventure will reward multiple reads and Brian – a furry lucky bear – will soon be nestling in your hearts. A timeless and heart-warming tale for young children. A truly charming book, which will enchant children and adults alike. ‘Brian the Barrington Bear’ has a wonderful timeless quality, with lovely traditional style pen and ink illustrations and enormous warmth engendered in both the characters, and touching storyline. A delightful little book and one which will most likely be with us for many years to come. – H
